Accountant

Cordia Resources is currently seeking an experienced Accountant with expertise in General Ledger (GL) accounts. Public company and Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) experience is preferred. Job Type: Contract to Hire

As an Accountant you will play a vital role in maintaining and reconciling GL accounts, ensuring financial accuracy, and supporting compliance efforts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, GL accounts, and a willingness to learn and adapt to the unique demands of a public company environment.

Responsibilities:

Perform month-end and year-end GL account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.

Record and maintain journal entries related to GL accounts, including accruals, prepayments, and adjustments.

Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting discrepancies and variances.

Support the annual audit process, including the provision of audit schedules and documentation.

Assist in the implementation and maintenance of internal controls and SOX compliance efforts.

Contribute to process improvements in GL accounting to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Stay updated with accounting standards, regulations, and industry best practices. Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. CPA or equivalent certification is a plus.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on GL accounts.

Familiarity with public company financial reporting and SOX compliance is preferred.

Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
