In this role, you will work closely with the Rigging Supervisor & the rigging and modelling teams to create versatile character rigging systems and animation interfaces to be used for the animation of CG characters and props.

Responsibilities & Qualifications
What You’ll Do
Design optimized custom rigs(characters, props, vehicles, etc) to provide a full range of motion and achieve real-time performance
Contribute to our rigging technology codebase with strict standards
Use skinning and other deformers to achieve the intended performance in an efficient manner
Troubleshoot, maintain and improve rigs in production while ensuring their stability for the animation team
Collaborate closely with design, modelling and shading to best achieve the intended animation performance requirements
Communicate with the studio's rigging supervisor on concerns and production issues ahead of time
Meet the rigging production deadline by communicating with production and offering innovative solutions
Be a team player and carry out duties professionally and positively.
What You'll Bring:
5+ years of experience in feature films, TV shows or relevant industry experience focusing on rigging.
Good understanding of rigging and deformation techniques
Solid understanding of rig optimization, and debugging processes
Good understanding of the animation process and needs
Solid understanding of the animation process and needs
Demonstrated knowledge and technical skills relating to character rigging, animation and scripting
Strong problem-solving skills
Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time efficiently
Ability to work independently and collaboratively, often with multiple tasks and under deadline pressure
Strong knowledge in 3D math
Advanced knowledge in Python with a good understanding of Object Oriented Programming concepts and GUI designs using PySide
Ability to document processes along with the ability to understand and follow documentation.
Nice to Have:
Knowledge in nCloth, nHair, xGen or other simulation systems is a benefit
Experience working with rigs for Unreal Engine
Experience in creating custom plugins for Maya using Python and C++.
Pay Range $1500 to $2100CAD per week
Candidates are paid within the range posted, but their exact pay will vary based on the level, responsibilities and expectations of the role. We also take into consideration the experience and skills that individuals brings, with considerations of our internal equity.
