MiniCo has nearly 50 years of experience in program management, underwriting, binding authority, and claims, offering a portfolio of exclusive programs to address even the most unique risk exposures. Our dedicated program teams provide niche underwriting process and flexibility, industry specialization, and unparalleled customer service. Today, MiniCo is a member of the Jencap Program Administrators division, offering multiple specialty property and casualty insurance products for a variety of unique industries and exposures.

The Underwriter will work a hybrid schedule in our Phoenix office. They will manage a book of business and service, rate and write specialty commercial insurance policies in support of our Commercial Self-storage program.

Responsibilities:

• Manage large and specialty accounts as part of our commercial insurance team.

• Underwrite Property, General Liability and Surplus Lines policies utilizing sound judgment and discretion following underwriting guidelines, rating and insurance regulations.

• Reviews, evaluates, and prices new and renewal applications, endorsements, and related documents within granted authority level.

• Ensure delivery, follow-up and servicing of all new business and renewal accounts as required.

• Provide technical underwriting support for assigned accounts/agencies within the team as well as making individual underwriting decisions on referred accounts.

• Accept, reject, classify, price, and bind insurance risks within granted underwriting authority.

• Effectively communicate with and service agents on new and renewal business.

• Provide appropriate and timely response to questions posed by agents, underwriters, and other team members.

• Assist in the development and implementation of new marketing strategies.

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 - 5 years of work-related experience underwriting Commercial Property & Casualty Insurance.

• Knowledge of Excess & Surplus Lines business required.

• Strong sense of customer service & attention to detail.

• Demonstrated ability to build relationships with both agencies and carriers.

• Ability to work as part of an underwriting team, including the mentoring of others.
