We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Controller to join our team at Easy Stay. The ideal candidate will be responsible for recording and categorizing all transactions, preparing financial statements, and ensuring accurate record-keeping for all LLCs and will have
previous experience in Property Management Accounting.
- This is a remote position for a company located in the Detroit Metro area and is open to U.S.-based candidates only.
- This position is classified as a 1099 independent contractor role and does not include employee benefits or protections.
Yearly Tasks:
Recording and categorization of all transactions (expenses, income, loans, acquisitions, sales, etc) for all LLCs in a timely fashion to maintain accurate records -information on transactions to be communicated from the team on discord
Preparation and Distribution of 1099s to all Contractors/Employees/Clients
Preparation of Year-End Financial Reports for all LLCs for Accountant
Preparation of all documents required for Taxes
Monthly Tasks:
Preparation and Distribution of the following financial statements for all asset-holding LLCS and Easy Stay Homes LLC
Balance Sheets
Income Statement/P&L
Cash Flow Summary
Preparation and Distribution of P&Ls for Easy Stay Homes, including monthly reconciliation with Asset Holding Accounts and distribution of earnings to Easy Stay Clients
Identify billing changes in Property Management Software to account for addition/subtraction of units
Conduct month-end meetings to review statements across all businesses
Weekly Tasks:
Manage Accounts Payable (Cleaners, Contractors, Clients, etc)
Liaison to CPA for strategy, proper recording, and tax planning
Communicate with Easy Stay team to categorize transactions
Goals:
Improve & Refine existing accounting systems
Create Budgets for Construction & Furnishing projects
Implement the Trust Accounting method
Help implement W2
Deliver Financial Statements for all LLCs the first week of each month
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance is required
Master's degree in accounting, finance, or related field a plus
Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role (+5 years).
Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Proficiency with Quickbooks online
Working knowledge of G-Suite applications.
Previous experience in accounting for Property Management Accounting is required
Knowledge / Experience in Real Estate Accounting is required
Knowledge of Trust Accounting
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
CPA certification is a plus.
Bilingual in Spanish/English a plus.
Must have a working smartphone
Must have the ability to pass a background check and drug screening
Compensation:
Full-Time
Remote work for a US-based company.
$50,000 - $60,000 a year, commensurate with experience.
