Software Engineer, Healthcare

Position Summary:

Under minimal supervision of a manager, the Software Engineer is a full-stack engineer who performs work assignments at the feature level, with hands on responsibility for ensuring delivery of product sprints that are complete, high quality and timely, conducting all activities in accordance with internal standards and procedures.

Primary Accountabilities:

Technical (100%)

● Design, develop, test, deploy, and support new software solutions and changes to existing software solutions in collaboration with a team; own and complete tasks as an active contributor to the team, involving others appropriately

● Responsible for system/application development; perform Unit testing

● Understand and implements architectural patterns and strategies for solutions

● Provide support during QA and User Acceptance testing as assigned

● Provide excellent customer/user support and technical expertise in end user decision support software tools and end user computing technology

● Troubleshoot technical issues in a variety of application environments; be able to research issues related to system configuration, software and database

design/development and data integrity; demonstrate competence in analysis and problem-solving

● Work to ensure each sprint delivers timely, accurate and high-quality work to production

● Maintain a focus on uptime and performance for high-volume solutions, hosted solutions

● Collaborate with team members and provide thoughtful discussion on tactics and strategies as they are selected

● Basic understanding of SDLC practices, methods, conventions and standards for the industry, company, and team; lead by example

Required Qualifications:

● Bachelor of Science Degree in computer science, information systems or related field

● 1-5 years of progressively responsible application engineering roles; or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to complete the major responsibilities/essential functions of the position

● Skilled in working with Agile or Lean software development approaches

● Understanding of object orientation and familiarity with modern design patterns; hands on experience with development that utilizes modern design patterns

● Experience with UI based technologies

● 1 or more years of experience in enterprise application development in the .NET environment

● 1 or more years of experience in working knowledge of C# or Java

● 1 or more years of experience in working knowledge of .NET Core, MS Blazor etc.

● 1 or more years of experience with Service oriented/RESTful API development

● Strong working knowledge of JavaScript Framework (Angular, React etc.), Typescript, JQuery, LINQ, HTML5, Javascript, CSS

● 1 or more years of experience in experience with Object Relational Mapping

● 1 or more years of experience in experience with database development and tuning in the MS SQL Server platform specifically: T-SQL, stored procedures

● Familiar with Dependency Injection

● Familiar with source control systems and tools, including Github or Azure DevOps

● Familiar with data persistence solutions other than RDBMS (Key/Value Stores, Document DBs, BLOB/Object Storage)

● Familiar with caching techniques (eviction, patterns like cache-aside, aspect-injection, tools/vendor selection)

● Ability to troubleshoot environment/hosting-related issues with on-premise web technology (DNS, Load Balancing, IIS, Windows Server, SSL, Security Contexts, basic firewall and networking concepts)

Preferred Skills:

● Experience with Cloud(GCP, Azure, AWS) based development

● Familiar with Message Oriented Architecture (Pub/Sub, RabbitMQ, MSMQ, Kafka)

● Familiar with Cloud Technologies such as Azure Functions, Service Bus, AWS Lambda

● Familiar with Cloud storage such as Big Query, Google Cloud Storage, Firestore etc.

● Familiar with Cloud SQL Relational Databases such as PostgreSQL, My SQL.

● Familiar with Serverless Development Concepts such as Docker, Terrafor, Ansible etc.

● Familiar with NoSQL, Document Store such as MongoDB, elasticSearch, Couchbase.

● Familiar with Linux OS (centOS, Ubuntu)

● Familiar with python script

● Familiar with JavaScript best practices and design patterns

● Familiar with mobile development for Android and iOS

● Ability to troubleshoot environment/hosting-related issues with cloud-based platform services
