Job Description

As Director of Aeronautics Strategy and Business Development (ASBD) for the Integrated Fighter Group (IFG) lines of business, this individual will be responsible for leading the development and execution of long-range business plans to grow this business.

Lead a team of ASBD professionals in the identification, qualification, shaping, and capture of new business opportunities related to domestic lines of efforts. This includes the USN and USAF trainer replacements such as the USN Undergraduate Jet Training System (UJTS), Tactical Surrogate Aircraft and Advanced Tactical Trainer opportunities, as well as domestic opportunities such as USAF F-16 (modernization and new sales).

Lead a team of ASBD professionals in the identification, qualification, shaping, and capture of international TF/FA-50 opportunities in accordance with the latest Lockheed Martin and Korean Aerospace Industries (KAI) teaming agreement.

This individual will also be the principal liaison between LM and KAI including fully understanding KAI’s global customers and industry partners, retain a firm understanding of recent LM/KAI Teaming Agreements as well as knowledge of Korea’s government, laws, and customs. This individual will co-chair the TF/FA-50 Executive Steering Committee Meetings along with the Vice President of Aeronautics Strategy and Business Development (ASBD) for the Integrated Fighter Group (IFG) lines of business.

This individual will assess the impact of new opportunities and strategies on the IFG lines of business and the company’s orders plan, as well be responsible for evaluating and making recommendations on market research, go-to-market/concurrence-to-proceed (CTP) aligned with Aero company strategies, and business capture and growth plans.

They will partner with supported IFG Program Management teams, and will also be responsible for training, hiring, and mentoring their team. Builds and manages campaign plans to capture new business, organizes the capture team, and wins competitions. Participates in the development and implementation of domestic and international IFG new business pursuits. Oversees development and execution of keep sold plans for ongoing programs. Functions as a liaison between assigned customers and company leadership. Oversees the implementation of Business Development policies and procedures. Manages the new business financial resources necessary to develop emerging technologies and products in alignment with customer needs, and propose LM solutions to customer Request for Information, Sources Sought, Requests for Proposals or Broad Area Announcements.

Communicates frequently with government customers at general officer and senior executive service (SES) levels. Communicates frequently with the ASBD IFG team, the IFG Line of Business (LoB) and their program leadership teams, the ASBD VP and their Strategic Planning team, as well as the Communications team. This position will require frequent travel both international and domestic.

Desired skills

- Experience in business development, capture management, and campaign leadership.

- Experience developing and managing campaign plans (including supporting budgets), business cases, and related business plans.

- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to craft persuasive presentations and messaging for senior management and customers.

- Prefer business development and/or programmatic experience with fighter aircraft (F-16, TF/FA-50)

- Experience developing opportunities from early concept/trend identification through qualification, deciding to bid, requirements shaping, through proposal development and submittal.

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Colorado Pay Statement

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, or Washington is $180,000 - $300,000 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
