Under direction, the IT Platform Services Engineer is responsible for server administration planning and development; Engineer system solutions for line of business projects or IT operational projects; Overall responsibility for monitoring, maintaining and upgrading the server environment and user application software; assists with design and integration procedures of server environment; applies automation solutions where appropriate; responds to after-hour calls; and performs related duties as required.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Designs, implements, and maintains enterprise server configuration management and change control.

Overall responsibility for all Microsoft, VMware, and Citrix technologies such as Active Directory, DNS, Group Policies, VM server creation and decommissioning, Citrix VDI administration.

Comprehensive knowledge and experience working with various server hardware platforms such as Cisco UCS and SAN technologies

Understands deployment management software such as SCCM;

Understands messaging services such as MS Exchange and Skype for Business;

Assists in the planning of network infrastructure changes;

Capacity planning and performance analysis of storage and backup infrastructure.

Ensures preparation and maintenance of disaster recovery and business continuity plans for information systems to ensure business risks are addressed within appropriate recovery timeframes

Serve as engineer level server support for all IT disciplines to include service desk, desktop support, web development, business analysts, network support, DBA support, and information security

Serves as technical services project lead for line of business projects

Requirements:

At least 5 years server support experience and engineer type

Some college or successful completion of Associates Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or closely related field; OR successful completion of a relevant program from an accredited technical school; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Advanced experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2008, 2012, 2016

Advanced experience with Microsoft messaging Exchange and Skype for Business

Advanced experience with VMware virtualization technologies and principles

Experience with Citrix VDI technologies and principles

Experience with storage area network technologies

Experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and group policy concepts

Working knowledge of IT Security vulnerability management best practices

Advanced understanding of networking concepts
