The role is for Base Metals and Ferro-Alloys Desk

Job Purpose:

Responsible for managing the trading operations & documentation function of the BMFA division.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensuring execution of finalized trade as per terms finalized – both at the supplier and customer end for the business

• Overseeing the entire chain of operations, starting from business confirmation till payment realization.

• Responsible for timely preparation /execution of documents from back office

•Checking contracts from suppliers/customers to ensure terms agreed upon are correct

• Monitoring the orders and liaise with the customer/supplier for readiness for shipping

Issuing transport document instructions

• Ensure that all required documents (bills of lading, certificates of origin, packing lists, invoices, test certificates, etc.) are received/presented in time

• Checking all purchase invoices for goods and services ensuring they are paid in line with the contracted terms of the order

• Overseeing banking documentation and LC management

• Overseeing documentation & operations for local sales through stock & sale

• Liasing with F&A to for all interlinkages between finance & documentation/operations.

Liasoning with freight desk and port ops as required.

• Being the SPOC for ERP for the entire BMFA.

• Tracking performance of the operations & documentation functionalities against the SLAs. Reviewing and improving internal processes toward execution excellence

• Managing business operational risks proactively and efficiently for optimal business operations

•Lc issuance and coordinates and negotiates with banks for better rates.

•Shipping Instructions (SI) and Letter of Credit (LC) received/prepared are compliant

•Insurance booked is as per the contract & shipment

•Follow-up with counterparties & resolve discrepancies related documents

•Month-end closing & reporting process

•Preparation of MIS/monthly KPIs

•Support on internal and External Audit.

• Marine (sea/land/rail), storage & India domestic insurance Knowledge.

• Warehouse management.

•Knowledge in handling High Seas Sales/Purchase and Customs Bond Transfer sale/purchase processes & documents.

•Team development and arrangement for training as required. Monitoring individual performances.

Desired profile:

Post Graduate / MBA - Course on international trade and operations will have additional advantage

Experience in the Commodity trading industry preferred, with relevant experience in bulk, break-bulk, and container shipments, and in warehousing & transportation.
