Sr. Engineer - Design Engineering

Role & responsibilities

Lead the technical aspects and responsible in deliveries of the NPI and Design changes for the product lines in Refrigeration and Air conditioning

Lead the team to translate design concepts into realistic products that meet the quality and product specification as well as cost down requirements, budget and timeline requirements.

Must be responsible for Designs of Refrigeration and Air conditioning products considering Cost, Manufacturability, Serviceability, Regulatory Compliance, CODE requirements & safety

Perform DFMEA, PPAPs, DFMA as required

Perform effort estimation for mechanical design based on requirements.

Bring innovation for time to market reduction and within the cost targets.

Comply with product development process and design standards.

Work closely with Cross functional teams (Manufacturing, Marketing, Sourcing, Testing...Etc.) to move products from design to manufacturing.

Review of 2D/3D designs to ensure compliance to standards and best practices

Develop Design Guidelines

Lead the Engineering activities in Stage Gate, DP meetings

Lead structural design and calculation activities - FBD etc.

Drive Product Qualification, Testing

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Preferred candidate profile

Sound knowledge in Refrigeration system design

Experience in Handling E2E NPI and Product launch

Good Exposure in NPI cycles (Gate Process, DP Process)

Must have a high-level knowledge of Project Management with Mechanical Engineering knowledge.

Expertise in the application of knowledge of engineering principles pertaining to development of new designs, methods, materials or processes.

Proficient in DFXs - Manufacturing, Assembly etc.

Should be able to leverage engineering partners and consultants for the best benefit of India R&D Center

Experience in Design tools such as Creo, Solid Edge...

Experience in PLM (SAP, Teamcenter…)
