Validation Engineer

Responsibilities:

Lead the formulation and development of electrode coatings to improve catalytic activity, durability, and overall performance in the electrodes.

Abdication of electrodes with novel compositions of binders, additives, and active materials.

Check electrode quality using various methods of inspection.

Troubleshoot the electrode quality issues.

Improve test methods to rapidly screen materials, understand their interactions with other cell components, and predict full cell performance.

Finding optimum composition, slurry rheology and coating methods for the cathode.

Knowledge of Slurry components – Ionomer, Binder, additive etc

Synthesizing the required cathode material as per requirement.

Operate coating equipment and machinery, such as Bar coaters, Doctor Blade Coaters, die coaters, screen printers, or spray coaters, adhering to established protocols. Collaborate with the research and development team to refine and optimise coating Process.

Develop activities related to new product development, process improvements, or further product/equipment evaluation.

Demonstrate ability to work safely in a team environment.

Support product development teams working toward the development of new products.

Creating and maintaining technical documentation.

What you’ll need

At Proven at least 5 years of experience in electrode fabrication (dry / wet method). Having hands-on experience in fuel cell technology is an advantage., battery electrode coating or a similar field.

Expertise in optimizing various coating techniques (Spray coating / Bar coating / Doctor Blade coating / Brush coating).

Strong understanding of coating materials, catalyst inks, and slurry formulations, and its rheology.

An ability to do the electrochemical and physical characterization of electrodes (peel test, scratch test, bending test, tensile test, EIS, CV, and or others).

An ability to work independently and with multiple teams.

Qualification:-

A Bachelor’s or Master’s in Chemical engineering, Material science, Chemistry (Organic/ Inorganic/Surface), Electrochemistry materials and nanotechnology, Chemical engineering, polymer Chemistry, electrochemistry, Chemical/Materials Science or related fields.
