Position Summary:
This position is responsible for overseeing the compilation of non-gaming revenues, including tenant agreements, related COG’s and inventories and the complimentary accounting system, which includes monitoring expenses and reporting same to senior management and regulatory authorities. In addition, ensures the timely and accurate processing of payments made to and received from tenants.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities: includes but not limited to:
Reviews journal entries related to non-gaming revenues, comp, tenant and golf activities
Maintains balance sheet reconciliations for all related accounts
Ensures timely and accurate reporting of activities to the Daily Operating Report
Ensures compliance with internal operating procedures and controls
Maintains statistical records of tenant activities and responds to tenant inquiries
Reports tenant delinquencies for both payments and reporting requirements
Reviews Tenant leases to determine key dates and accounting requirements
Prepares the Sales and Use Tax and Dues Tax, Entertainment withholding and Fuel Excise Tax Rebate
Responsible for the hiring, training, evaluating and counseling of the department staff
Ensures the timely and accurate reporting of activities to the Daily Operating Report completion of physical inventories and identification of obsolete inventories
Responsible for the reporting and analysis of cost of goods sold
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:
Chairs Non-Gaming Comp Committee and produces minutes and reports
Maintains Comp authorization matrix and handles authority change requests
Audits manually added point adjustments
Minimum Education and Qualifications:
Bachelors’ Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
Five years of supervisory experience in a computerized accounting environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
Intermediate knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook
In lieu of a Degree and previously mentioned experience, eight years of supervisory experience in a computerized accounting environment may be considered
Competencies: Incumbent will master the following competencies while in this position:
Basic understanding of the Mohegan Sun budget process
Ability to review and implement complex lease agreements
Working knowledge of GAAP
Knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley
Knowledge of Mohegan Sun corporate and department policies and procedures
Thorough understanding of the Mohegan Tribal Employment Rights Ordinance (TERO) as it relates to employment
Training Requirements:
Knowledge of Mohegan Sun corporate and department policies and procedures
Must complete all appropriate Human Resources Manager Training courses
Understanding of Ascent, EmpowerTime and Manager Self Service systems
Knowledge of ACSC, LMS, RPOS, Cognos, Jonas and Infinium systems
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Office work environment
Must be able to sit in front of a computer screen for extended periods of time
Must be able to work various shifts and flexible hours
