BAE Systems, Inc. is seeking a Night Shift-Lead (12am – 8am ET) to provide support for Java-based mainframe operations for our Government client. This position is remote (telework). This role shall monitor, triage and report on Production activities related to the Internal Revenue Service’s (IRS) Individual Tax Processing Engine (ITPE) Parallel Operations effort, in support of the Information Technology Operations Command Center-Monitoring of Mainframe & Triage Branch (ITOCC-MMTB).

Overall Summary:

Monitoring mainframe operations, creating and logging incidents to critical systems and preparing reports for relevant offices and divisions.

Utilizing Control-M to monitor applications and Microfocus Operations Bridge Manager to review auto-generated incidents and alerts.

Reviewing and using the IRWORKS Knowledge Management Database for Initial Triage

Working with stakeholders to perform root cause analysis and to drive issue resolution in adherence to established Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

Ensuring that incident tickets are managed appropriately, documentation is updated, and the command center shift is successful on a day-to-day basis.

Actively engaging in process improvement initiatives to further automate and enhance the efficiency of the monitoring and triage process.Responsibilities

The Night-Shift Lead shall provide incident management and resolution coordination, cross-functional team collaboration, and process improvement activities for our Government client to include:

Proactively monitor and triage technical error incidents, ensuring timely coordination with relevant teams for effective resolution.

Utilize the knowledge database for initial triage, reviewing and analyzing relevant information to inform effective decision-making.

Effectively coordinate and collaborate with technical subject matter experts on incidents identified within the production environment, ensuring precise issue resolution and system stability.

Collaborate with technical teams to identify and document root cause analysis of technical errors and underlying issues.

Collaborate closely with teams to effectively craft and disseminate key communications to stakeholders as required.

Participate in shift-turnover meetings, effectively exchanging critical knowledge and status updates with preceding and succeeding shifts to ensure seamless operations continuity.

Regularly update documentation and provide timely updates to Enterprise Service Desk (ESD).

Extract various data to create and deliver reports for managers and stakeholders.

Responsibilities are dynamic and may be adjusted based on evolving customer needs, requiring flexibility and adaptability in various technical scenarios.General/Minimum Requirements

Must be a U.S. citizen or green card holder due to Government contract stipulations.

Must have 5+ years of professional experience with monitoring, tracking and reporting in a systems operational environment.

Must be detailed oriented and proficient in drafting/updating reports and other business documentation.

Strong ability to organize, prioritize and execute incident handling activities in a fast-paced environment.

Keen awareness of deadlines and adeptness in managing multiple objectives simultaneously without compromising quality.

Flexibility and adaptability to evolving business needs.

Discretion in handling confidential information and sensitive matters, in compliance with relevant Federal standards.

Exhibiting a positive attitude and maintaining composure under pressure.

Ability to articulate ideas and information clearly and concisely in both written and verbal forms.

Willingness to undergo periodic background checks in compliance with federal contracting requirements.

Consistent demonstration of a high-level of integrity and ethical standards in all work-related activities.

A history of reliability and trustworthiness as evidenced by references and past employment.
