Corporate Revenue Accountant

Our client a leader in the real estate sector is seeking a senior Revenue Accountant. This is integral to the financial reporting process, accounting policy development, and investment support initiatives. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this role focuses on managing the accounting operations of properties under management. Collaboration with various internal stakeholders ensures adherence to best practices in financial reporting. This position works with a dynamic team in their western Ontario office (5 days per week).

Responsibilities:

Process daily deposits and maintain tenant ledgers

Analyze AR Aging reports and manage interest on deposits

Generate monthly Rent Rolls and review charges

Monitor pre-authorized rent payments and manage deposit accounting

Reconcile daily bank activity and address discrepancies

Prepare HST remittance for properties

Assist in monthly Financial Statements preparation

Aid in annual audit working papers and liaise with auditors

Interpret business results for actionable insights

Contribute to annual budget preparation and variance analysis

Calculate propertiesâ ratios and KPIs

Review monthly property packages and forecasts for accuracy

Prepare month-end journal entries for receivables and revenue

Maintain confidentiality and uphold accounting policies

Perform ad hoc tasks assigned by the Accounting Manager

Qualifications:

University Degree or College Diploma in accounting or related field

CPA active or designated

3 + years of experience in real estate or property management (preferred)

Proficiency in Yardi or similar ERP software

Strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills

Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities

Curiosity and analytical mindset to understand key metrics and drivers
