Are you looking to make an impact on the physical, emotional and cultural needs of pediatric patients and their families? Join our team as an RN on in the Pediatric Med/Surg Float Pool at the University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital!

This position is eligible for an additional $2/hour augmentation.

Located on the west bank of the Mississippi River in Minneapolis, we deliver a broad range of pediatric programs from surgery, imaging and neonatal and pediatric intensive care to cardiac and oncology (cancer care) services and blood and marrow and organ transplantation.

The Pediatric Med/Surg Float Pool RNs float to the Pediatric Med/Surg units including Blood and Bone Marrow Transplant, Oncology, Cardiology as well as the Newborn Family Care Center. The RN also functions in the role of resource flyer, being available to assist with patient flow and other duties throughout the hospital.

This position will be working 56 hours every two weeks on the rotating day/evening shift, 8 hours shifts and every other weekend.

Responsibilities/Job Description:

Provides care to pediatric cardiac, nephrology, urology, neurology, solid organ (kidney, heart) transplant, infectious disease, CF, pulmonary, and general medical/surgical patients and their families.

Performs advanced monitoring using current technology

Manages complex medication and infusion therapies

Care for patient undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures/interventions on the unit.

Demonstrates ability to safely and accurately operate unit equipment.

Qualifications:

Required:

BLS for healthcare providers

MN RN licensure

Will Consider New Grads ; Nursing Assistant experience in pediatrics, nursing student within the pediatric float pool team.

Preferred:

BSN or higher degree in nursing strongly preferred

PEARS. Certification in pediatric nursing
