Overview:

HORUS Technology Solutions is looking for a QA/Helpdesk Analyst to join our team.

The QA/Helpdesk Analyst role test system upgrades and enhancements and helps users with any questions and issues they may encounter. Review and validate system documentation, web content, and user documentation and provide feedback. Work closely with development team to escalate user requests to Tier 3 if code changes are required.

A top candidate would be very client focused. To be a strong team player you must be proactive in identifying issues and risks, and work with the client and the team to be a trusted advisor. Another challenge is maintaining an excellent level of current operational support while planning and integrating new enhancements and technologies.

Responsibilities:

Understand business process needs and system features/functionality to support users.

Understand and support work and process flows to represent user actions, system processes and data integrations.

Support development of test plans, test cases, user documentation, and other supporting functional documents to support reviews and software release deliveries.

Identify acceptance criteria and execute test cases.

Support operations by testing data corrections using SQL queries.

Collaborate with software developers and analysts to ensure that system design, development, and test specifications satisfy approved requirements.

Work with program stakeholders to ensure continuous process improvement and apply Agile Scrum best practices and methods across the engineering life cycle.

Support and maintain product backlog in JIRA

Support backlog story grooming with the product owners and other stakeholders in JIRA

Support sprint story grooming with the development team in JIRA

Ensure that deliverables meet functional and design specifications and requirements.

Identify, track, monitor and communicate project-related issues, scope changes, variances and contingencies that may arise during the implementation of projects.

Qualifications:

University degree in the field of Computer Science or technology, Science, Information Systems or Mathematics.

3+ years equivalent work experience or 1+ with a master’s degree.

Knowledge of SQL for analysis, reporting, and data corrections.

Experience with database querying tools (SQL Developer, Toad, etc.).

Experience working on complex mission critical systems.

Experience with custom Jira projects, schemes, workflows, dashboards, etc.

Analytical and testing experience with ability to quickly assimilate into the client's operational environment, gain understanding of the stakeholders' business needs and translate into discrete, testable, and measurable system requirements.

Ability to author test plans, test cases, and user documentation.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Experience with being part of Agile Scrum teams.
