Responsibilities:
To provide planning and technical support for projects.
Provide technical support to manufacturing for capability issues, technical improvements, and processing improvements
Identify improvement opportunities and use a data driven approach to quantify the improvement, develop timelines, and develop budgets
Write scopes of work and communicate with contractors to obtain quotes and requisition funds for projects
Oversee projects to completion including supervision of contractors to ensure projects are completed correctly, on time, and under budget
Schedule training and informational seminars as needed
Train employees, provide feedback on performance, assign and direct work as needed
Lead and/or participate in cross functional teams that focus on process improvement
May provide supervision and/or technical guidance to manufacturing departments
Provide engineering support for equipment upgrades, machine replacements, new equipment, and construction projects
Communicate with various departments within the corporation to obtain information and provide project updates
Create layouts and drawings using AutoCad
Research and evaluate new technologies as they pertain to the manufacturing process
Assist maintenance departments in developing, evaluating, and editing preventative and predictive maintenance programs
Manage and work on various projects as requested by the Engineering Manager
Maintain and enforce all company safety, environmental, and department of health requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
Prior engineering experience preferred
Strong organizational skills with proven ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Lean manufacturing and/or six sigma experience is a plus
Ability to travel as necessary
Ability to lead and direct in a positive manner
Permanent
