Systems Administrator Lead

ECS is seeking a Systems Administrator Lead to work in our Arlington, VA office (Hybrid). Please Note: This position is contingent upon contract award.

Job Description:

ECS is seeking talented professionals who love a challenge to join us in building the next-generation Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation (CDM) Cyber data solution. The CDM Program is the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency’s (CISA) dynamic approach to strengthening the cybersecurity of Federal networks and systems through better awareness and visibility into their security posture and cyber threats. ECS is responsible for designing, building, deploying, operating, and maintaining a complete ‘Data Services’ solution which includes the collection, normalization, visualization, and sharing of cyber data from more than 100 Federal agencies. The CDM Data Services product is a cloud-hosted solution comprised of multiple Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS), software configuration packages, and custom code which work together to operate as an integrated solution tailored to meet DHS requirements.

ECS is seeking a System Administrator to lead a team overseeing the successful operation of a large scale cloud-based solution. The team will provide administrative support for a production environment as well as controlled lower-level environments. The successful candidate will be self-motivated and passionate about cloud, cloud services, DevOps, automation, problem solving, and process improvements. The candidate will work together with other internal teams and interact with stakeholders to include customers.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a deep understanding of operating system administration with a primary focus on Linux-based operating systems, maintain integrity and availability of resources, key processes, application logging, and other administrative responsibilities. The candidate will also be responsible for managing and maintaining custom and COTS applications deployed within environments.

Required Skills:

US citizenship and ability to acquire Public Trust Suitability

A Bachelor’s degree with at least 6 years’ experience administering Linux to include patching, supporting security scans, complying with security policies, and user management

At least 4 years’ experience automating processes, building supporting or maintaining CI/CD pipelines, and leveraging infrastructure as code

At least 4 years’ experience managing resources, building solutions, and monitoring in large distributed cloud environments, specifically AWS

At least 2 years’ experience working with the Elastic product suite to include Elasticsearch, Kibana, and Elastic Cloud Enterprise

Desired Skills:

Success in supporting a broad array of cloud services

Experience delivering technical excellence in the federal space

Familiarity with managing the Atlassian suite of ALM tools

Relevant professional level cloud, DevOps, Elastic certifications

Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
