Responsabilities:

Provide consistent analysis in the areas of cost control, benchmarking, forecasting, progress measurement, submission of monthly status reporting, and project management of change.

Timely and accurate preparation of integrated project cost reports and scorecards to reflect status of projects, assuming responsibility for overall accuracy, completeness and timeliness, and adhering to company standards.

Coordinates the flow of project information (primarily cost, forecasting and change management) to the project teams and other internal / external stakeholders.

Identify present and future potential cost impacts in projects and provide guidance to project teams.

Involvement with Benchmarking, and Cost/Schedule Risk; and analyzing installed quantities and expenditure of hours to derive earned value.

Responsible for working with the project teams to establish ‘estimate at completion’ (EAC) for project forecasting, follow up on budget approvals and preparation of decision summaries to support the change.

Creation and administration of WBS for new projects. Follow up with SCM with the creation and closure of purchase requisitions, purchase orders, open commitments, contracts, internal orders to allow the close out of SAP projects when completed.

Work with the Contract Administrator to track any changes or potential changes to the project scope during its implementation, including cost and schedule impacts.

Compiles trending data for the development of annual capital budget and provides other supporting documentation for budget analysis, evaluation, and monitoring.

Assists in the validation of complex project invoices prior to approving for payment, such as EPC and procurement invoices.

Interfaces between the project management team and accounting department to review project costs and support internal / external audits as required.

Minimum qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or engineering with relevant experience in project/cost controls for at least 10 years, with high level of familiarity of general project management and cost controls principles.

Demonstrated leadership capabilities and proven performance / results to modify working methods if needed.

Proficiency in English speaking and writing is required to support bilingual reporting to Sr. Leadership and able to maintain conversations with project teams.

Desired experience in Oil & gas industry for at least 3 years. Specific experience in pipelines during construction and operation would be beneficial.

Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Excel and the ability to manage data sets obtained from various data sources is required. Management of cost control software would be beneficial.

Proven team player with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and develop and maintain collaborative working relationships.

Strong attention to detail, accuracy and following instructions is required.

Preferred qualifications

Basic knowledge of several project areas such as engineering, construction and supply chain.

Experience with Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contracts.

Experience with SAP is a definite asset (Project Controller profile).
