ZAI has an immediate opening for a Training and Communications Specialist to support the training functions at a prestigious medical library in Bethesda, MD. This position manages web-based webinars on Zoom.gov and Microsoft Teams; interacts with the Library’s external customers and provides support for webinar presenters at all levels of the library organization. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of web-based webinar platforms and experience providing excellent customer service.
Although this job may be performed remotely, candidates within the Eastern Time Zones are preferred. The successful candidate must be available to work an 8-hour schedule between 6:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. EST and come on-site 2-3 times per year to support large events.
Responsibilities:
Facilitates the training function for the Consultation and Training Branch and the Training Team
Coordinates training and workshop logistics for virtual and in-person instruction, including:
Provides instructor support for both virtual and in-person classes, including live chat support for all Library classes
Serves as Technology Support Lead, facilitating programs and events via Zoom and Zoom Webinar
Manages various aspects of the training calendar and course catalog
Assists in tracking metrics, manages the post-class survey and prepares reports, prepares files for the monthly training program report
Organizes and maintains Training Team content on the MS Teams platform
Supports the Asynchronous Training Subgroup, a function of CTB, including reviewing online tutorials, assisting with creating closed captions
Serves as the point of contact for customer questions about the Library's Training Program
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree (Communications-related or Education preferred)
2+ years experience providing training and communications support
Expert proficiency with virtual conference platforms to deliver training programs, Zoom preferred; Teams required
Experience hosting and monitoring questions and answers for webinars
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, including Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Experience with a website content management system, such as Drupal
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work equally well on a self-paced basis as well as in a collaborative, team-oriented setting
Excellent creative, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Strong attention to detail and excellent follow-through
Experience working in a federal, research, or academic library is a plus
