WAS Admin (WebSphere Application Server Administrator) Location : Client - Bangalore We are seeking a skilled and experienced WebSphere Application Server Administrator to join our dynamic team.
As a WebSphere Application Server Administrator, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of our WebSphere infrastructure to ensure high availability, performance, and security.
Key Responsibilities : Installation and Configuration : - Install, configure, and maintain WebSphere Application Server environments in both development and production settings.
- Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to ensure proper integration of applications with the WebSphere environment.
Performance Monitoring and Tuning : - Monitor server performance and proactively address any performance bottlenecks.
- Conduct performance tuning to optimize the efficiency and responsiveness of the WebSphere infrastructure.
Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution : - Investigate and resolve issues related to WebSphere Application Server functionality.
- Provide timely and effective solutions to incidents, ensuring minimal impact on business operations.
Security Management : - Implement and maintain security measures to safeguard the WebSphere infrastructure.
- Ensure compliance with security policies and industry best practices.
Backup and Recovery : - Develop and maintain backup and recovery procedures for WebSphere environments.
- Test and validate backup and recovery processes to ensure data integrity.
Documentation : - Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for the WebSphere infrastructure, including configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
- Provide training and knowledge transfer to other team members.
Collaboration : - Work closely with development, testing, and support teams to facilitate seamless application deployment and ongoing support.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to implement cross-functional solutions.
Patch Management : - Keep abreast of WebSphere updates, fixes, and patches.
- Plan and execute patch management activities in coordination with change management processes.
Qualifications : - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a WebSphere Application Server Administrator.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Shell, Python, or Jython.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with security principles and best practices.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- WebSphere certifications would be a plus.
