Job Description

As an Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Investigator, you will play a critical role in detecting and preventing financial crimes within our organization. Your responsibilities will include analyzing financial transactions, identifying suspicious activities, and ensuring compliance with AML regulations. You’ll work closely with the AML team to maintain the integrity of our financial systems and protect against money laundering and terrorist financing.

Responsibilities

1. Transaction Monitoring:

Review and analyze financial transactions

Identify patterns of suspicious activity that may indicate money laundering or other financial crimes.

Report any illicit activities promptly.

2. Risk Assessment:

Evaluate the risk associated with specific transactions or clients.

Determine the likelihood of money laundering or other illicit activities.

3. Suspicious Activity Reporting (SAR):

Prepare SARs based on identified suspicious transactions.

Collaborate with law enforcement and regulatory authorities as needed.

Maintain confidentiality of reports and documentation as required by law.

4. Data Analysis:

Utilize Excel and other tools to analyze transaction data.

Identify anomalies and patterns indicative of money laundering.

5. Regulatory Knowledge:

Stay informed about evolving AML regulations and industry best practices.

6. Collaboration:

Communicate effectively with lines of business to obtain information or documentation necessary to analyze transactions.

Assist in AML-related projects and assignments.

Qualifications

Minimum 1-2 years of investigative or related experience with an emphasis on AML/ATF.

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field, or equivalent job experience in banking preferred.

Knowledge of banking product and service offerings.

Relevant certifications (e.g., CAMS, CFCS, CAFP) are a plus.

Intermediate Excel skills (use and creation of pivot tables/charts, using lookup functions, data validations, etc.).
