Reporting to the Director of Finance, and responsible for tracking and maintaining all inventory levels, database maintenance and physical inventory counts, the Senior Manager, Inventory Control is considered a critical role for the organization. This is a “hands-on” role that includes overseeing all receiving, stocking, and processing of invoices. The position involves working very closely with the Parts Manager to ensure smooth and error-free service to the clients.

This position is located in Mississauga and is an “in-office” role.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop an appropriate demand-based inventory replenishment strategy for critical parts. Work collaboratively with the Parts Manager and Service Managers. Conduct a thorough review of the current state of the inventory to identify key areas Improvement. Look for, identify, and correct root causes of excess inventory and inventory shortages. Develop a comprehensive parts tracking system to ensure that part numbers align with current stocks. Segment inventory levels to determine which parts are critical and ensure that these parts are not subject to stock-outs (i.e. ABC/XYZ analysis). Establish minimum and maximum inventory levels for all parts. Develop a plan to deal with aged inventory. Conduct regular cycle counts to provide an ongoing measure of inventory accuracy and correct any discrepancies. Track and maintain all inventory levels, purchase orders and database maintenance as well as physical inventory counts. Support (in collaboration with the Service Managers and Parts Manager) daily operations of inventory and warehouse and identify and eliminate bottlenecks. Develop new processes and procedures to help track and improve inventory KPIs. Define inventory KPIs and track and report on them regularly, identifying problems and trends as well as implementing solutions and process improvements. Use demand intelligence to understand the 'why' behind impactful surges or disruptions. Continually strive to improve inventory KPI's, creating an environment where continuous improvement is the norm and processes and practices are continuously refined and improved. Support the Parts Manager where necessary in assisting in strategic sourcing and procurement.

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

A minimum of five years’ experience in a parts and inventory capacity combined with a relevant educational background (degree in supply chain or related field would be considered an asset). Experience keeping stock at a level so that technicians can complete their work without delay while balancing the need to avoid the costs of carrying excessive inventory is a must. Expert knowledge around forecasting and demand planning. The ability to gain a deep understanding of customer demands and trends and to match these trends with inventory levels, strategies, and tactics. Can leverage existing IT systems to help forecast and plan inventory and create accurate reporting. Knowledge of Excel and the ability to create dashboards is highly desirable. Expert ability to understand, develop and drive new processes and practices regarding inventory and materials management. Has the ability to study the current state and develop, communicate, and implement appropriate measures to improve inventory KPI's. Outstanding communication skills (both written and verbal) are critical in this role. This person must become the company evangelist with regard to inventory process and procedures and customer expectations. The ability to work with, educate and collaborate with all levels within the organization including senior leaders, administration staff and technicians will be key to this individual's success.
