Here’s the deal, Allo is looking for a skilled Fiber Installation Technician to join our dynamic team. As a Fiber to the Business Installer, you will be responsible for installing fiber optic cables to businesses, ensuring that they have access to high-speed internet and other advanced communication services.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Here’s a typical day:

Start your day knowing it probably won’t be typical and brand-new tasks not listed below are bound to come up.

Prepare various types of cables.

Maintain/Upkeep assigned company vehicle. Stock supplies and equipment.

Install fiber-optic lines and various types of splice closures. Must be comfortable with heights and tight spaces.

A little dust can have a big impact, you’ll field polish connectors to improve service consistency.

Single fiber splicing.

Aerial and underground drop installation.

All Duties as assigned.

Adapt. Re-adapt. Then re-adapt again. No two days are the same.

Competently operate a light source and power meter.

Identify different types of equipment such as telephone systems, fax machines, IP related equipment, set top boxes, wireless routers, network switches and ensure the functionality of all equipment.

Maintain and inspect equipment at installation and troubleshoot effectively to quickly correct problems with service.

Ensure that all cables and cable accessories required for television, internet, and phone are working properly and are in serviceable condition.

Go the extra mile at every opportunity for the customer.

EDUCATION:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Associate's degree or 2-4 years equivalent work experience.

EXPERIENCE:

Ability to learn and grasp new concepts on the job.

Must provide your own compatible smart phone for daily work functions.

General tech knowledge.

Must be comfortable with heights (ladder/gaff work)

Must be comfortable with tight spaces (attic/crawl space work)

Clean MVR to drive ALLO Communications vehicles. Must maintain a clean MVR record.

Ability to work evenings and weekends.

SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:

Here’s what you’ll bring to our team:

General Knowledge of Microsoft OS.

Use critical thinking to work through problems in a logical manner.

Understanding of email clients and how to configure them.

Experience in wire fishing and pulling.

Ability to properly lift 80 lbs.

Maintain a professional and presentable appearance.

Learn and follow PPE protocols.

Knowledge and ability to work with power/hand tools.

Time management and organizational skills. Prompt attendance to work and scheduled job sites.

Capable of being part of a team and working closely with other team members.

Obtain and maintain ALLO Communications required tool supply.

Safe handling of all products and preforming all assigned tasks.

Accurate paperwork (time sheets, change orders, delivery tickets)

On-call rotations once trained to a competent level

Ability to QA/QC installs performed by peers and relay information succinctly.

Effectively communicate with subscriber and organization when working advanced troubles

MDU/MTU fiber installations.

Understand the basics of network routing protocols.

Select routes and fill out drop bury forms for residential/business fiber plant.

Drop burials.

Dress and route fiber and Cat5 into data closets and work areas.

Willingness to work in adverse weather conditions.
