Description:

Solid'Africa

Solid'Africa was founded in 2010 to address the challenge of nutrition insecurity in public hospitals. Our vision is to achieve universal access to adequate and appropriate nutrition for all by enhancing awareness, affordability, and availability of nutritious food.

For the past decade, Solid'Africa has championed an end-to-end patient feeding program which today, delivers tailored meals three times daily to over 1,400 patients across five district hospitals in and around Kigali, Rwanda. Our unique approach covers the entire value chain, from sourcing and farming ingredients to preparing and delivering nutritious meals. As we scale, our scope is expanding to include promotion of sustainable agriculture through partnerships with cooperatives, as well as implementation of nutrition education and awareness campaigns. To enhance our long-term sustainability, we recently launched a commercial arm to generate internal revenue to subsidize our operational costs as we grow. Solid'Africa values its people and strives to create a healthy and supportive work environment in which every team member can actively contribute while finding meaning and purpose.
