Plant Maintenance Engineer/Manager

Our client located in the GTA West, is seeking to hire an experienced Maintenance Manager/Leader to oversee the maintenance operations in a baked goods manufacturing facility.

As the Maintenance Manager/Leader, you will be support a significant plant expansion and be responsible for ensuring the efficient functioning of all plant equipment, machinery, and facilities to meet production requirements while maintaining a safe working environment and safety-first culture.

Job Duties Include: Manage and supervise a team of 15 people (salaried & hourly), maintenance staff Act as a coach and mentor to the plant maintenance team and personnel Develop and implement maintenance strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure optimal equipment performance and reduce unplanned downtime Conduct regular inspections of machinery, equipment, and facilities to identify potential issues and address them proactively within a 3 shift (24/7, 365 days/Yr, operation Support significant plant expansion activities and related capital expenditures Oversee the maintenance function within an approx.

200,000 sq/ft manufacturing facility Track and report on expansion plan key milestones back to the senior leadership team Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and regulations related to baked goods facility maintenance to ensure compliance and continuous improvement Monitor and manage the maintenance budget, identifying cost-saving opportunities while ensuring the quality and effectiveness of maintenance operations Maintain a safety-first plant culture ensuring all maintenance activities adhere to industry standards and regulations This is an on-site role Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field is preferred 7-10 years' prior CPG, Bakery Mfg.
