As we continue to expand our operations, we are seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Laser Programmer / Estimator.

Financial Wellness Competitive salary Group RRSP/DPSP matching program Educational Assistance Program Apprenticeship Program Healthcare Wellness Disability & Life Insurance (including Dependent Life) Medical, Dental & Vision Care Benefit Long Term Disability Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Workplace Spending Account Tools and Office Accessories Custom hearing protection Prescription safety glasses Workplace safety boots/shoes SUMMARY OF JOB FUNCTIONS: Program and set up the Sheet & Tube Laser for various metal fabrication projects Estimate the cost of laser-cutting projects based on material usage, machine runtime, and other relevant factors Prepare estimates, detailed quotes, and proposals for clients, considering both production costs and competitive market rates Develop a detailed material list for all jobs Compile labour hours required to perform the job requirements Prepare SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and manual drawings for all jobs Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine the most efficient cutting strategies Itemize and quantify all other incidentals necessary to perform the work, including subcontractors, equipment rentals, and extra work discovered during the job progression Ensure job costs are tracked, recorded, and submitted to the President for review Stay updated on advancements in laser cutting technology and software to enhance productivity and efficiency Keep the President and Project Managers/Coordinators informed of all operational details, including job progress, delays, and problems on a need-to-know basis only Review sales orders and develop a work schedule for the following days, weeks, and months, collaborating with the President and Project Managers/Coordinators Perform general administrative and record-keeping functions, including the review and distribution of documentation, preparation of correspondence, job costing summaries, invoicing, and maintenance of files, logs, drawings, and specifications Take phone inquiries from customers and respond to requests Perform final quality inspections on finished goods before shipments Work with the Laser Operator as required to ensure regular and preventative maintenance is done on the laser machine and related equipment Help enforce company policies, rules, and regulations May be required to perform other duties as required.

Required Technical Skills: Completion of post-secondary degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Machine Tool Technology, or related discipline Minimum 3 years of related work experience (Custom Metal Fabrication, job shop) or combination of relevant education and work experience Proficient user of SolidWorks, 3D CAD and AutoCAD Sound knowledge of project execution activities such as planning, project controls, scheduling, and costing Proficient at reading, understanding and production of technical drawings and specifications Sound working knowledge of Excel, Word, and other MS Office software Ability to multi-task, problem-solve and handle a high volume of activity with conflicting deadlines.

Additional Qualifications Are Considered an Asset: General knowledge of machine shop processes is a definite asset.
