Health & Safety Supervisor

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The incumbent will be responsible for the implementing, running, and maintaining the health and safety program required for the Benoni site.

This position requires a person that can take the company to a level that is acceptable to the laid down government requirements for the health and safety.

HEALTH AND SAFETY SUPERVISOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Achieve and maintain the government required standards for the site health and safety levels.

• To be able to communicate openly and develop effective relationships with all levels of management and staff in the workplace.

• To be able to develop the systems required in conjunction with the rules and regulations of the government health and safety specifications.

• To hold monthly meetings with all management and appointed health and safety representatives, and to be able to ensure that all issues are attended to timeously and efficiently.

• To maintain full records of every process put in place and have all issues raised achieved in acceptable time frames.

• To generate monthly reports and feedback to all required management.

HEALTH AND SAFETY SUPERVISOR REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS: A relevant qualification in Health and safety standards with experience in developing the required levels for the health and safety on site.

• 3 -5 years of experience in development of health and safety rules and regulations in a company.

Must be qualified in either Samtrac or Nebosh.

• Excellent communication, problem solving and developing procedures required.

• Proficient in Microsoft office suite (Excel, Word, Power point). • Able to work in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment.

• Strong organizational and time management skills.

Able to work independently and collaboratively with a team.
