The opportunity

Due to our continued growth, we require project management professionals who will be responsible for the delivery of multiple fast-paced property investments programmes for major corporate real estate that focus upon workplace office, property amenities and employee experience solutions. This role sits within our consultancy business, specifically the commercial sector so the successful candidate will have the opportunity to broaden their experience beyond corporate real estate sub sector and have agility to gain experience and support other sub sectors including retail, hotels and leisure, new build and manufacturing and technology.

This role will provide end to end project management across the project lifecycle to meet defined time, cost, technical performance & quality requirements, focusing upon MEP improvements and infrastructure upgrades.

This is a client-facing role, responsible for collaboration with project team members. You will be highly motivated, have an understanding of developing a project plan, identify any specialist requirements and mobilise a professional team to drive forward the clients’ strategy. You will responsible for management of necessary project governance and assurance tools to fulfil our obligations. As a Senior Project Manager you will lead the appointed professional team and remain accountable for all aspects of delivery as lead consultant building strong working relationships with clients and colleagues and supply chain members.

Your delivery responsibilities will include:

Support in establishing effective project controls, governance, and processes to manage the project,

Assist in developing the client’s brief, delivery strategy and leading the design management, procurement, and execution of the scheme,

Working with the client and key stakeholders to drive the master project schedule, holding the team to account on key deliverables, reporting upon risk and early warnings to advise the client of key decisions or items of escalation,

Developing scope of services for professional team appointments, experience of managing tender processes, conduct min-tender interview and recommendation write ups,

Preparation of funding requirements / supporting business case development for client approval prior to execution of the works,

Preparing draft appointment / contracts; understanding of lease language / tenant obligations to manage project risk and client obligations effectively,

Developing and managing effective communication and liaison with all relevant internal and external stakeholders to ensure that requirements are identified, assessed, and appropriately integrated into the project,

Working with a team that strives for quality, safety, cost and schedule improvements at every opportunity with all delivery partners, challenging and seeking to improve the project deliverables,

Coordinating, planning and managing internal and external meetings in relation to the project, facilitating information exchange and clarifications,

Preparing various project health reports, ability to communicate both up and downstream presenting within project team, and client organisation,

Driving the procurement of services and works required to deliver the project, advising the client on most appropriate procurement strategy for the intended scope of works,

Effective change management, to manage scope and costs creep, reporting of early warning, and overall financial performance of a project for both Mace and the client,

Providing input into client systems including health, safety & wellbeing, project risk assessment and management process to mitigate risk for safe working regimes,

· Monitoring key performance management techniques to drive value to the client, capturing knowledge, lessons learned and sharing within the Mace organisation,

· Monitoring and auditing of installation works to ensure compliance with project strategies.

· Monitoring and auditing of MEP installation works to ensure compliance with construction status drawings i.e. line and level throughout the installation duration, spot checks to be undertaken.

· Monitoring and auditing of construction installation works to ensure compliance with MEP requirements, i.e. builds work holes, riser opening dimensions.

· Production and agreement of the commissioning strategy, management of close out items for package.

· Management and close out of commissioning reports.

· Management of Sub-subcontractor packages throughout the commissioning until single system completion.

· Attendance at commissioning meetings with detailed knowledge of programme, issues and resolution.

· Advanced knowledge of engineering systems including design standards and frameworks, installation techniques, best practice, engineering processes, prefabrication and system commissioning requirements, sufficient to manage the project team on programme from an initial tender period through to contract completion.

· Proficient knowledge of construction build elements, including sequencing and dependencies to ensure consideration, collaboration and co-ordination with other work packages.

· Proficient knowledge of planning processes and management, with sufficient understanding of key construction release requirements, critical path, tasks / works scheduling and commissioning activities to allow for planning and control of the project from Pre-construction through to Practical Completion.

· Knowledge of commercial management to allow commercial control of a package(s), inclusive of the procurement processes, change control, programme impact, risk and mitigation, cost to complete and commercial forecasting for across the project

· Knowledge of health, safety & welfare core elements such as working from height, electrical safety, fire safety, logistics and lifting, to provide awareness and ensure application in the safe management across the project.

· Knowledge of Quality Assurance process and management & Commissioning of single systems as well as the integration of systems through Cause & Effect, BMS and IST integration periods to allow full completion of the project inline with programme.

· You have a degree qualification in engineering and a member of a professional body such as CIBSE or the IET. Other building services HND level qualifications may also be considered.

· You are digitally savvy, can build lasting client relationships and lead strong, motivated teams. You have a MEP services project management background and are hungry to grow your career and enjoy the opportunities Mace have to offer.

· You have experience in managing corporate office CAT B refurbishment and fit out projects, experience of in-occupation phasing and fit-out including Banking, financial trading floor experience, technology rooms & specialist MEP infrastructure would be advantageous
