Richardson Oilseed is one of Canada’s oldest and largest fully-integrated oilseed processing and packaging operations with three facilities across Canada. In addition to producing bulk canola oil and meal, our food products division produces a wide variety of canola-based margarines, oils, and shortenings for the industrial, retail and foodservice markets.

Working with Richardson opens the door to a world of possibility. We currently have an opportunity for a Quality Assurance Technician (Term) at our Yorkton, SK location.

Responsibilities:

Full chemical analysis on all stages of oil processing from seed to refined, bleached and deodorized oils

Ensure products are being made according to documented internal Richardson and customer requirements

Providing release approval to pre-load and load oil products

Provide analysis for non-conforming products and feedback to production on required analysis

Verify incoming raw materials meet food safety quality requirements

Conduct retained sample collection and ensure samples are controlled for the required period of time

Recognize actual / potential food safety and quality issues

Conduct inspection and testing analysis on incoming raw materials, additional in-process and finished product

Formulation of additives blends

Carrying out Food Safety Audits

Qualifications:

Grade 12 or equivalent

Degree or diploma in Food Science, Microbiology or Chemistry – an asset

3 – 5 years previous experience in a food manufacturing environment

Familiar with GMP and HACCP

Excellent computer, written, documentation and verbal communication skills

Must be willing to work shifts and overtime
