Lineman

Reporting to the Transmission Line Supervisor under the Transmission Line Maintenance of NCR-O&M, the successful candidate will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of transmission line facilities, rerouting/construction of by-pass structure and related facility for the efficient, reliable and economical maintenance.

Conducts preventive maintenance – regular inspection of transmission line facilities; right of way vegetation; installation of structure guy, strapping and correction of leaning poles; conducts temporary remedial protection measures such as digging canals, backfilling and minor riprapping; conducts of IR scanning and structure ground footing resistance test;

Conducts corrective maintenance – prepares needed line materials and hardwares for the conduct of line repair and maintenance; replacement of rotten wood poles, cross-arms, x-brace, worn-out insulator and other overhead line appurtenances; re-routing/construction of by-pass line; resagging and correction of structure ground footing resistance;

Conducts trouble shooting during forced outages of lines – line sectioning, open phase/short circuit testing and emergency foot patrol and fault identification inspection;

Provides assistance in the negotiation and information dissemination of Right of Way concerns;

Materials and Tools preparation and maintenance – performs periodic cleaning and maintenance of all issued tools and equipment which includes storage area and 5S zone.

Qualifications:

High School graduate / Technical vocational graduate

Six (6) months relevant experienceHas completed a Lineman’s Apprenticeship Program (LAP) or equivalent Basic Lineman’s Training (BLT) certified by cooperatives or TESDA.
