Overview:
The Machine Shop Head of Department (HOD) plays a crucial role in overseeing the manufacturing operations within the machine shop. They are responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the machine shop, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety in production processes. Key Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise machine shop staff
Develop and implement manufacturing processes and best practices

Optimize production efficiency and minimize downtime
Manage inventory and procurement of raw materials and tools

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field
Proven experience in a senior leadership role within a machine shop environment
Demonstrated knowledge of CNC machining, tooling, and fabrication processes
Strong understanding of quality control and inspection techniques
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing methodologies and continuous improvement tools
Proficiency in production planning and resource management
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
