Business Segment Controller

Job Description

Position Overview: The Business Segment Controller holds a pivotal role in overseeing financial operations, including reporting, consolidations, budgeting, planning, and providing leadership within the business segment. Reporting directly to the CFO with a dotted line to the General Manager, this position acts as a liaison between operations, executive leadership, and corporate accounting finance.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage the entire segment accounting process, including financial reporting, analysis, and contractual matters.

Lead monthly and quarterly closing and reporting processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Collaborate with business unit leaders to ensure financials accurately reflect business status and implement necessary controls for improved cost tracking and budgeting.

Identify financial risks and work with business teams to develop and implement mitigation plans.

Drive operational performance through partnership with business leaders, focusing on cost optimization, productivity, and inventory accuracy.

Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles to maintain integrity.

Ensure compliance with company policies and practices in all business operations.

Provide Working Capital Management planning and reporting for the business unit, covering billing, collections, payables, and inventory.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field; CPA or similar certification preferred. Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is a plus.

10+ years of progressive leadership experience in financial management roles.

Proficiency in reporting under US GAAP for US Parent Company.

Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to present, influence, and collaborate effectively at the leadership level.

Strong analytical skills to drive informed decision-making.
