Operations Manager Trainee

Job Description

The Management Trainee is responsible for learning and understanding the principles of lean manufacturing and industrial operations. This includes developing an understanding of the tools and techniques used to improve operational efficiency, reduce waste. The trainee will also be responsible for Employee tracking, such as Hours, Performance, and Safety.This position is perfect for someone with 1-3 years' experience who is looking for a longer-termrole in operations supervision.

Responsibilities:

Learn and understand the principles of lean manufacturing and industrial operations.

Develop an understanding of the tools and techniques used to improve operational efficiency, reduce waste.

Work with management to identify areas of improvement in the organizations processes and procedures.

Participate in team meetings to discuss process improvement initiatives, and assist in developing metrics to measure performance.

Maintain employee records, including hours, performance, safety training, accident reports, injury reports, etc.

Monitor employees' utilization of safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (metallurgical, process, electrical, etc.)

Strong attention to detail

Understanding of lean manufacturing concepts and processes

1-3 years experience in an industrial setting, preferably metals industry or similar
