What is the role?

dotCMS is a cloud-based Digital Experience platform changing how enterprises do digital. We seek a VP of Marketing who will take charge of our company's marketing vision and strategy.

As the VP of Marketing, your goal is to lead dotCMS's marketing plan and strategy, ensuring effective leadership across all marketing activities. This includes developing demand-generation strategies to boost revenue growth and brand awareness and collaborating with the sales team to align marketing and sales funnels. Moreover, you will envision and implement Product Marketing programs, Events, Brand and Corporate Communications, and Demand Generation strategies.

We're proud to be 100% remote! dotCMS has been fully remote for over a decade, and as an employee, you may work remotely from any location compatible with standard U.S. business hours. Please note this is a Full-Time Employee position, and we cannot sponsor or take over the sponsorship of an Employment Visa. Additionally, we are not accepting contractors or C2C candidates.

Strategy, Planning, and Leadership:

Lead the development and execution of our marketing plan and strategy, overseeing all activities with effective leadership of the marketing team.

Be a key member of our leadership team and contribute to organizational growth.

Manage relationships with internal and external subject matter experts to drive content creation, PR, and other social media activities to boost the brand in the industry.

Review, improve, and develop marketing metrics that reflect the reach and engagement of branded content.

Review and Improve positioning and messaging strategy for our products.

Demand Generation:

Define and execute go-to-market strategies to drive qualified leads.

Own and oversee relationships with our demand gen partner agencies to execute digital marketing initiatives (SEO, SEM, email marketing, and social media campaigns).

Work closely with the Head of Sales to develop and execute ABM strategy and programs that drive leads from targeted account lists.

Work closely with the Head of Partnerships to develop and execute partner channel strategy and programs that drive leads from partnerships.

Work closely with the Customer Experience team to develop and execute marketing programs for existing customers to drive expansion revenue.

Work with leadership to develop field marketing strategy spanning multiple geographies.

Product Marketing:

Oversee our product marketing practice to distill key functionality and benefits into core product marketing messages.

Ensure strong advocacy of customer needs through customer and partner engagement and alignment with the product team.

Oversee the development of product marketing material such as videos, brochures, sales collateral, etc.

Brand Management:

Work with leadership to develop our brand story and build programs to drive brand awareness.

Own brand guidelines, ensure all internal and external communication aligns with brand values, and amplify brand equity.

Manage relationships with external PR and advertising agencies.

Desirable characteristics:

10+ years of total experience in marketing-related roles, with 3-5 years of experience in growth roles.

At least 3 years of experience in a management position.

At least 3 years of experience within an Enterprise SaaS B2B environment.

Experience within a MarTech or CMS industry technical platform is a plus.

Proven track record of:

Developing and executing marketing strategies within companies with ARR ranging from $50M to $100M.

Leading the strategy across Growth, Demand Generation, Corporate Communications, Events, and Product Marketing.

Demonstrated experience in mentoring and scaling remote marketing teams.

Demonstrated experience and aptitude for data-informed decision-making.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with other teams.

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field.
