This is a third-shift position paying $23.20 plus a $0.75 shift differential.

The Extruder Operator must set up the extruder, start up, and run quality thermoplastic tubing product in a timely fashion. The key to the effort is following written and verbal instructions, monitoring running conditions, trouble shooting process problems, recording results and maintaining an accurate inventory of materials. The position is also responsible for preventative maintenance and lubrication of auxiliary equipment, and for area cleanliness, neatness and general housekeeping.

Essential Functions:

· Must practice good housekeeping habits.

· Must be able to follow instructions and work with limited supervision.

· Set up extruder and all auxiliary equipment.

· Have knowledge of and be able to use small hand tools.

· Maintain daily records and keep daily log.

· Know all inventory materials and keep a running inventory.

· Start up the product, get it on proper size and maintain quality throughout the run.

· Maintain preventive maintenance and housekeeping duties.

· Follow all instructions and written procedures.

· Practice good safety habits at all times.

· Work outside the area when needed or as designated.

Range of Physical Activities:

· Standing/Walking - Constant walking around the extrusion area. Some standing while packaging product.

· Pushing/Pulling - Push screw in and out of the extruding barrel, barrels of plastic around the area on the floor, and water tanks around to align them with other equipment.

· Lifting - Must lift barrels and bags of up to 50 lbs. to a height of 4 feet, and equipment weighing up to 80 lbs. to a height of 4 feet.

· Writing - Must be able to write instructions, record data, log activities, and write notes on reports.

· Reading - Must be able to read instructions and procedures, measuring devices, and instrument readouts.

· Math - Add, subtract, multiply, divide, and identify numbers. Use and understand fractions and decimals.

· Climbing - Climb ladders to a height of approximately 10 feet off the floor.

· Manual Dexterity - Must be able to disassemble, clean, and reassemble equipment; string up the product, change the knife blades, and fix jam ups in the puller belts.

· Visual Activity - Must be able to see hopper levels from up to 40 feet, read sizing on pins and gauges, and identify different colors and shades.
