Harrison Gray Search has partnered with a niche manufacturing company with a great opportunity for technical growth and industry technical leadership.

Job Overview:

The Structural Engineer, reporting to the Chief Engineer, will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day operations of our organization, providing technical support to vendors, offering design consultation services, and expertise in custom structural design solutions.

Job Responsibilities:

Structural Design: Design custom parts made from steel and wood, and make modifications to standard parts as needed.

Attachment Methods: Develop site-specific methods of attachment to building walls and floors to ensure structural integrity and safety.

Technical Support: Offer technical support for telescopic products to various stakeholders, including dealers, customers, architects, engineers, code administrators, and the sales department.

Collaboration: Coordinate and collaborate with consulting and testing engineers to develop product designs, ICC-ES Evaluation Report submittals, and site-specific stamp sets.

Regulatory Compliance: Handle submittals and applications to the California Division of the State Architect (DSA) to ensure compliance with state regulations.

Supervision: Work with Chief Engineer to supervise and guide CAD assistant and Welding Inspector in their day-to-day tasks.

Structural Testing: Conduct structural testing on bleacher components as required to ensure quality and safety.

Job Requirements:

Education: A Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or an equivalent technical field is required.

Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in consulting engineering or a construction company is necessary.

Professional Engineering License: Professional Engineering License and have the ability to become licensed in additional states. (Preferred)

Electrical Knowledge: Knowledge of electrical installations is preferred, with field experience being a valuable asset.

Computer Skills: Strong overall computer skills are preferred, with proficiency in Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Software Proficiency: Proficiency in drafting and BIM software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Risa, as well as electrical engineering software like SKM and lighting software (Visual), is highly desirable.

Communication Skills: Proficient in writing both internal and external correspondence, demonstrating effective and professional communication skills.

Organizational Skills: Ability to focus, organize, and prioritize essential functions to meet project deadlines effectively.

Teamwork: Demonstrated ability to foster and maintain teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues.

Adaptability: Be flexible and adaptable to meet sudden demands and changes in project requirements.
