Shipping Group Lead

Schedule:

Full Time: 8:30am – 5:00pm, Monday – Friday with overtime as required

Position Summary:

This position will be responsible to act as an assistant to the Shipping Supervisor, helping to create and organize efficient processes for the Shipping Department.

Position Responsibilities:

Assist in overseeing all Shipping Department functions and assume Shipping Dept responsibilities in absence of Shipping Supervisor

Direct office personnel in Supervisor’s absence

Maintain or direct others to maintain monthly Shipping Dept. Reports

Assist in monitoring work flow/overtime

Train employees in the handling, packing, and shipment of hazardous materials

Audit freight bills

Direct the ordering and inventory of Shipping Department supplies

Other duties assigned by the Shipping Supervisor

Position Requirements:

Previous shipping experience desired but not required

Previous experience leading teams is desired but not required

Attend hazardous materials training seminars when required

Attend traffic management seminars

Ability to plan, schedule, and organize in an efficient manner

Fork Lift license

Ability to perform all responsibilities of Shipping Clerk

Education/Certifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent
