The Position:
The Clinical Laboratory Supervisor will ensure the effective, efficient, and compliant operation of the laboratory by managing and coordinating the people and processes for: immunology, chemistry, and hematology systems (Moderate and High-Complexity laboratory testing).
Essential Responsibilities:
• Maintain CLIA, OSHA, and HIPPAA compliance.
• Oversee day-to-day operations of the clinical laboratory.
• Schedule meetings with Laboratory Director as needed.
• Verify test procedures are performed with precision and accuracy (Calibrations, Quality Control/Levy-Jennings, Linearity testing, Proficiency testing).
• Ensure general laboratory safety and compliance and that all equipment in the laboratory meet safety standards.
• Resolve technical problems with solutions that follow compliance standards.
• Maintain laboratory records and perform proficiency testing as required by regulatory standards.
• Ensure PHI is accurate and secure.
• Run clinical laboratory testing when clinical scientists are short-staffed.
• Perform inventory and order laboratory supplies.
• Work on specimen transportation logistics with our lab courier service and practices as needed.
• Maintain the LIS database and help resolve IT issues related to laboratory software and interfaces.
• Perform routine maintenance on laboratory equipment and work with 3rd parties to troubleshoot any issues that arise.
• Maintain a high level of customer support by effectively communicating findings of laboratory inquiries from practice administrators, providers, medical assistants and phlebotomists.
• Learn and train on EMR software to effectively help resolve any issues related to electronic orders/results and billing and potential for process improvement.
• Develop interdepartmental communication within Articularis Healthcare Group to help improve and resolve any potential issues related to IT, billing, EMR, phlebotomy, specimen labels and requisitions for the laboratory, etc.
• Keep financial records and perform data analytics to monitor trends to provide feedback to practices and physicians while looking for opportunities to increase laboratory growth and revenue.
• Lead acquisition-related efforts to ensure a smooth transition to laboratory processes for any new practices and/or affiliates.
• Performing other duties as needed.
This job might be for you if you have:
• Bachelors of Science degree in Chemistry or Biology, or equivalent work experience.
• 5 years of related clinical lab experience.
• 2 years of lab management experience.
• Posses an active MT or MLS certification (ASCP or AMT).
