North American Controller

The Opportunity: We are seeking a financial professional to join their esteemed team as the North American Controller. Reporting directly to the CFO, this role plays a pivotal part in orchestrating their accounting & financial processes. The successful candidate will lead a team, ensuring the precision of month-end closures, financial statement preparation, and overall financial analysis.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the entire financial operation: From the meticulous execution of month-end closures to daily transaction processing and in-depth financial analysis.
Leadership at the Helm: Manage and lead a team of 10, comprising both direct and indirect reports.
Financial Governance: Spearhead the consolidation and reporting of financials for their North American entities, including intricate inter-company elimination adjustments.
Global Collaboration: Act as a key liaison between North America and their parent company’s Corporate Controlling team in Europe, facilitating seamless communication and analysis.
Analytical Expertise: Delve into variance fluctuations, providing insightful analysis to support the overarching 5-year strategic plan.
Empower Management: Provide essential KPIs and financial tools, enabling proactive and reactive decision-making at the leadership level.
Strategic Collaboration: Participate actively in the senior management team, contributing financial insights and expertise.
System Transition Leadership: Play a pivotal role in driving system testing and addressing financial reporting needs for an impending ERP conversion to SAP in 2024/2025.
Skills & Experience:
Proven managerial experience, coupled with strong verbal communication and active listening skills.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, demonstrating mastery in financial modeling.
Educational background in Accounting/Finance (Bachelor’s degree); MBA and/or CPA are advantageous.
Extensive experience in financial reporting, planning, and analysis within the manufacturing sector.
Familiarity with ERP systems, with SAP knowledge considered a strong asset.
Thorough understanding of U.S. GAAP accounting principles.
Prior experience working for or partnering with a German owned manufacturing company.
Exceptional organizational skills, effective problem-solving abilities, and meticulous attention to detail.
Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
