Work Now Staffing is looking to hire Industrial Sewing Machine Operators for our Clearwater, FL client.
Pay: $17.50 - $18.00 per hour
Shift: 8:00am to 4:30pm
Job Details:
Perform production tasks according to standard operating procedures and manufacturing guidelines.
Complete quality records for manufactured products.
Operates liner and various machines - Sews materials together by guiding material under machine needle
Prepares and troubleshoots machine (changing needles and thread, oiling and changing the bobbin, and securing attachments)
Performs the various hand tasks necessary to sew materials including joining pieces, and repairing materials
Perform counting and inspecting of the product during the sewing process
Responsible for producing product type in the allotted task time
Responsible for maintaining quality in completed products
Meet or exceed monthly productivity goals for the position
Maintaining a clean and safe work area
Follow supervisor directions / Report issues or problems to the supervisor
Must be willing to work in a non-temperature-controlled environment
Must be able to stand, stooped, and kneel to check the product
A great eyesight is required to inspect for defects and basic maintenance on the Machines including refilling raw material and replacing broken needles
Operate and maintain sewing machines and related parts, including pattern plates, needles, presser feet, automatic cutting, and blades
Read and interpret work orders and adjust machines and materials to match, including selecting fabric, thread, and needles
Inspect and repair finished products as needed and make any machine adjustments to compensate for errors or quality issues
Troubleshoot basic machinery problems and request service or repairs as needed
Minimum Skill Requirements:
Previous experience working in a clothing and / or non-woven manufacturing environment is a must
Experience operating a sewing machine in an industrial setting is a plus
Able to perform complex trouble shooting and manage production output
High school diploma, GED or equivalent is required
Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
Ability to measure components
Moderate computer skills are desired
Candidate must be a strong team player
