Field Service Technician

Title: Field Service Technician (95% Travel, typically gone for 12 consecutive days)

Location: Elmhurst, IL

Pay Rate: $30 - $40/hour plus overtime

Duration of Job: Direct Hire

The Field Service Technician role is responsible for installing automated equipment at our customers' sites in the USA and Canada.

Responsibilities:

Assemble, install, wire, configure and test automated systems, making and supervising the mechanical and electrical adjustments

Assist with the connectivity of the automation hardware to the software environment.

Resolve any electromechanical issues

Coordinate and manage small teams of workers at customers' sites.

Create and provide scheduled quality reports and status reports regarding the project.

Communicate any issues that arise on site to the Project Manager.

Lead the final quality assurance and safety tests on installed equipment and complete all required documentation

Train customers on system and light maintenance operations

Provide scheduled preventive maintenance and on-demand corrective maintenance services to customers as needed

Minimum requirements:

At least 3 years of related experience installing industrial/manufacturing equipment

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and plans (mechanical and/or electrical).

Basic knowledge related to programming controls preferred

Ability to travel (mostly domestic and Canada) for work, nearly 100% of the time, typically gone for 12 consecutive days (or more)

Responsible, results-oriented person who can be trusted to accomplish the established objectives of each project on time, safely, and with the highest degree of integrity

Excellent communication skills.

Ability and willingness to work variable hours including weekend, night, and/or holiday work as needed

Ability and willingness to lift, lower and carry objects up to 50 lbs., work from heights, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces

Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record
