Our Herndon, VA office is looking for a Director of Construction Administration who embodies this purpose.

Responsibilities:

Provide construction oversight and perspective throughout design

Oversee construction administration services

Site & project evaluation- identify risks and challenges

Phasing and constructability analysis and support

Coordination check – Arch, Geotech, Surveyor, etc.

Construction team POC and conduit to design team regarding:

RFIs

Shop Drawing Reviews

Site visits and inspections

Pre-con attendance

Permit coordination

QA/QC review process, assessment of constructability

High level review of risks related to:

Public, Pedestrian, and Traffic safety

Schedule and budget risks for client

Assessment and grading of unknowns

Team support and education – teaching and training lessons learned, QC feedback

Mentoring & supervision of QC/Construction oversight team

Collaboration with the Technical Resources Group

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Masters’ Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related fields

10+ years of residential, commercial, and/or industrial construction management

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong organizational skills and able to manage many projects at the same time

Ability to solve problems using sound professional judgment, creativity and innovation

Takes initiative on tasks and in coordinating with other members of the design team

Ability to effectively discuss project issues with clients and reviewing agencies
