CERTIFIED MEDICAL ASSISTANT (CMA)

SITE OF SERVICE:

Naval Branch Health Clinic NBHC Albany, GA

Depending on the clinical workload, the health care workers (HCWs) may be required to provide services in other clinics located within Naval Hospital (NH) Jacksonville and Branch Health Clinics (BHC).

POSITION QUALIFICATION/REQUIREMENTS:

Degree: Certificate.

Education: Graduate from a medical assistant training program accredited by ONE OF THE FOLLOWING:

Graduate from a medical assistant training program accredited by Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP)

Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) of the American Medical Technologists

Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC)

Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS)

Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS)

Formal medical services training program of the United States Armed Forces.

Certification: Current certification as a medical assistant by ONE OF THE FOLLOWING:

American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)

American Medical Technologists (AMT)

American Registry of Medical Assistant (ARMA)

National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)

Experience: One year of experience as a Medical Assistant after graduation.

U.S. Citizenship: HCWs performing under this contract shall be U.S. citizens.

English Language Requirement: The Contractor shall ensure that all HCWs providing services under this contract are able to read, write, and speak English well enough to effectively communicate.

HCW Physical Capability: HCWs shall be physically capable of standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time and physically capable of performing all services required.

HOURS:

Services shall normally be provided Monday through Friday between the hours of 0730 and 1630.

Shifts are generally for an 8.5 or 9-hour shift to include an uncompensated 30-to-60-minute meal break, respectively.

At the mutual agreement of the HCW and the Department Head, shifts may be extended to 10.5 hours. Shifts for a 10.5- hour period shall include an uncompensated .5-hour meal break, and two 15-minute breaks when possible.

In no instance will the HCW provide services in excess of 80 hours in a two-week period.

May be required to work on federally recognized holidays.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS

Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Must be able and willing to reprioritize on short notice and work on multiple simultaneous projects. Flexible and able to work with various personalities. Teamwork skills required. Time management skills required. The ability to meet deadlines in a deadline intensive environment is essential. High level of adaptability and willingness to embrace change in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
