Vern Restaurant and Bar is a new and upcoming establishment, with our set opening date in April. We are actively seeking sous chef's who will thrive in a fast-paced environment and dedicate time to expanding our clientele base to establish the restaurant's brand and reputation.

Job Description

As a Sous Chef at Vern Restaurant and Bar, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Head Chef in the daily operations of our kitchen. This position demands creativity, a high level of skill, and a passion for food and excellence.

Responsibilities

Assist the Head Chef in the planning and preparation of high-quality meals in accordance with restaurant standards.

Supervise and coordinate activities of cooks and other food preparation workers.

Help in the development of menu items and recipe creation.

Ensure the kitchen operates in a timely manner that meets our quality standards.

Oversee and ensure that the kitchen and surrounding areas are sanitized and clean in accordance with food safety standards.

Manage inventory levels and order supplies as needed.

Train and mentor kitchen staff on culinary techniques and best practices.

Handle any problems that arise in the kitchen and act quickly to resolve them.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Sous Chef or a high-performing line cook ready to step into a Sous Chef role.

Culinary school diploma or equivalent experience.

Strong knowledge of cooking methods, kitchen equipment, and best practices.

Team spirit, with a customer-oriented and professional attitude.

Ability to communicate effectively and lead a team.

Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends and evenings.
