This position is full time, 10-month position with occasional summer responsibilities, reporting to the Upper School Principal.

Responsibilities:

Teach four sections of Upper School or Middle School Spanish ranging from Grade 6 Spanish to advanced level Spanish.

Create a positive and safe classroom culture and community.

Deliver the curriculum through classroom teaching and differentiated instruction.

Collaborate with a Spanish department that is committed to building language skills and cultural competence.

Work with the Upper School principal, Upper School team, and the Leadership Team to ensure high quality education and a joyful and engaging high school experience for students.

Use a variety of assessments, such as student portfolios and project-based learning to measure student learning and drive instruction. Provide feedback on student assignments in a timely and constructive manner.

Use real-world situations to facilitate language use when speaking, writing, listening, and reading.

Maintain positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.

Serve as an academic advisor to a group of students.

Attend all divisional, departmental, and school faculty meetings including professional development days.

Desire to be actively engaged in learning and ongoing professional growth.

Requirements

Requirements:

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree (Master’s preferred).

Fluency in Spanish and teaching experience.

Strong desire to teach high school aged students and to be part of a dedicated high school faculty.

Collaborative by nature, and an effective communicator with students, teachers, administrators, and families.

Proficiency in technology, including Microsoft products.
