Job Description:Maryland Environmental Service (MES) has an opening for a Senior Environmental Specialist – Traffic Data Analyst within our Technical and Environmental Services Group working at Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) in Baltimore, MD. This position will support the Data Services Division, Traffic Monitoring Team at SHA. Duties will include, but are not limited to, contract management, dividing traffic monitoring counts between contracts and contractors, balancing workloads, and managing due dates and deliverables.
Estimated Pay Range:
$50,601.10 - $65,000

Minimum Requirements:
Minimum education requirements include a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in environmental science, engineering, ecology, biology, chemistry, geology or a related field plus 3 years of experience in environmental science, regulations, engineering or management. One year of experience must have included responsibility managing environmental projects and providing leadership to other professional and technical staff. An advanced education degree may be substituted for up to two years of required experience. Must have a valid driver’s license with less than 5 points.
The preferred candidate would have the following knowledge and skills:
Familiarity with traffic monitoring workflows, including traffic count data collection, validation, and attribution
Project and contract management experience (including reviewing proposals for completeness), and experience working with various State and private entities
Basic Geographic Information Systems knowledge and skills are a plus
