Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

As an expert in more than one of the environmental areas (carbon/renewable energy, waste/zero landfill, water, wastewater/chemicals) as, support and manage the roll out of and monitor adidas’s environmental supply chain strategy, program and targets for suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and implement adidas’s environmental supply chain strategy, program and targets for both T1 and T2 suppliers. Provide the guidance to the suppliers on technical issues around energy, waste, water, chemical management and/or wastewater in the Global Supply Chain

Ensures facilities full fulfillment of all adidas environmental programs requirements and targets.

Identify the areas of risk and provide recommendations in respect of those risks, based on legal obligations, strategic commitments and/or environment requirements

Analyze the environmental indicators to track performance of suppliers and provide business partners with clear summary on supplier performance under his/her coverage.

Provide guidance, capacity building and technical knowledge to facilities on all environmental issues to drive improvements.

Identify training needs of in the supply chain and provide training and conduct regular advisory to ensure suppliers meet reporting deadlines in the sustainability systems.

Support roll out of the adidas supply chain environmental management programmes in your key countries in collaboration with key functions within adidas

Increase internal awareness and knowledge about adidas environmental program achievements.

Engage in dialogue with third parties, including NGO, Government bodies and professional institutions to further investigate and test future concepts linked to environmental strategy

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Strong project management knowledge and experience, including developing and maintaining project plans, providing regular communication, coordination, problem resolution and undertaking budget administration.

Strong business acumen and superior quantitative and analytical problem-solving skills

Excellent oral and written communication skills to convey complex information in a simple, easily understood to diverse groups of stakeholders

Proven ability to interact with all levels, partnering, facilitating, and influencing and utilizing internal and external resources

Strong team player with proven ability to work cross functionally to achieve goals and objectives and ability to work independently as well as in team setting.

Strong written and verbal English, any other regional (Asia Pacific) language is a plus

High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint programs

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

5+ years of experience managing and implementing environmental issues within a manufacturing setting, footwear knowledge is preferred

Master degree either in Environmental Studies, Science, Engineering, Climate discipline (Bachelor's degree can be considered for the right candidate)
