Summary

The Senior Maintenance Technician is a technical leader responsible for troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of manual and automated, process and material handling systems and components, within a 500,000 sq-ft manufacturing facility. The Senior Maintenance Technician coordinates maintenance activity with the Engineering/Maintenance Manager along with Operations Managers to set priorities and provide direction to the maintenance team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Diagnoses mechanical and electrical problems using technical drawings (e.g., blueprints, electronic/mechanical schematics) and diagnostic tools.

Together with Controls Engineer, troubleshoots and repairs complex electrical/electronic problems with equipment, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and external Input/Output (I/O) devices where the repair is not immediately visible or obvious.

Performs maintenance and repairs on equipment (e.g., pneumatic systems, material handling equipment, hydraulic equipment, pumps, blowers, motors, starters, VFD’s, Dust collectors, electronic and electrical equipment, etc.) according to safety and quality procedures.

Leads dismantling equipment and removing parts for repair/overhaul, using hand tools, chain falls, jacks, cranes, or hoists.

Reads maintenance repair work orders and specifications to determine machine and equipment requiring repair or maintenance.

Completes work orders, records, logs, and other written or computer-based documents according to established procedures.

Follows up by providing feedback and timely documentation with Engineering/Maintenance Manager, Supervisor/Lead, and other Operations Managers to ensure issues have been resolved.

Conducts preventative maintenance programs to ensure safe and efficient operation of equipment.

Individuals will be required to work overtime as necessary to keep plant in operation.

Education and/or Experience

Ÿ High School Diploma

Ÿ 5+ years of related Experience in a manufacturing or factory environment

Ÿ Allen Bradley/Rockwell Experience Preferred

Ÿ Previous CMMS experience preferred
