Summary:

The Assistant Director of Technology Innovation and Integration plays a key role in empowering educators and students to effectively leverage technology for personalized learning experiences. This individual will collaborate with teachers, administrators, instructional leadership, and the Director of Technology Innovation and User Experience to develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for technology adoption and implementation, ensuring that technology tools and resources align with instructional and professional goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Instructional Technology Leadership

Provide leadership to the Instructional Technology Innovation Coordinators, Technology Innovation Coaches, Application System Analyst, and other instructional team members, including direction, supervision, and evaluation.

Lead professional development initiatives that equip teachers with the skills to seamlessly integrate technology into their lessons, fostering student-centered, personalized learning environments.

Collaborate with teachers to design and model innovative technology-enhanced lessons and projects.

Research, evaluate, and recommend new instructional technology tools, apps, and platforms that support diverse learning needs.

Partner with the Director to develop the division’s instructional technology vision and long-term strategic plans.

Technology Integration Support

Provide ongoing coaching and support to instructional and professional staff on effective technology integration strategies.

Act as a liaison between educators and the Division of Technology Innovation to facilitate troubleshooting and ensure timely resolution of technology-related issues in the classroom.

Assist in the creation of online resources, tutorials, and guides to support the use of technology tools.

Collaborate with the help desk team to ensure knowledge base is maintained and SLAs are met by technology innovation and integration team members.

Innovation and Strategic Planning

Champion personalized learning initiatives, exploring how technology can empower student choice and agency.

Identify opportunities to utilize technology to expand access, differentiate instruction, and provide equitable learning opportunities.

Stay up-to-date on emerging trends in educational technology and recommend pilots of promising new tools or strategies.

Lead the technology procurement process as it relates to digital solutions, including vendor selection, contract negotiation, and budgeting.

Collaboration and Communication

Build strong relationships with teachers, school leaders, and department staff to promote a shared vision for technology in education.

Facilitate communication between the Division of Technology Innovation, curriculum teams, and schools to ensure alignment of technology with instructional objectives.

Collaborate with the Department of Technology Support and User Experience to research, test and choose appropriate technology for classroom use.

Qualifications:

Master's degree in Educational Technology, Instructional Design, or a related field.

Minimum of 5 years of classroom teaching experience, with a demonstrated track record of successful technology integration.

Expertise in a variety of instructional technologies and digital learning platforms.

Excellent coaching, facilitation, and professional development skills.

Strong project management and organizational skills.

Passion for innovation and personalized learning.
