Bookkeeper/Accountant

Job Description

Blaszkow Legal PLLC is the Alexandria Injury Attorney, but we serve clients throughout the DMV, in all courts of Virginia, Maryland, and DC. For forty plus years we have been proud to advocate on behalf of innocent victims of all types of accidental injuries. We are actively hiring for an Bookkeeper/Accountant to join our growing team!

This is a part-time position, and the successful candidate will average between 12-18 hours per week.

The Bookkeeper/Accountant will be a "back-office" position, and will have numerous responsibilities relating to the firm's finances, such as:

- Issue checks for firm- and case-expenses

- Oversee the Operating Account

- Oversee the Escrow/IOLTA Account

- Track firm expenses and run reports, as needed

- Process payroll through our third-party vendor, ADP

- Participate in budgeting and expense discussions

- Reconcile accounts to ensure past-transactions are logged

- Prepare tax documents (including obtaining and issuing W9s)

In order to effectively complete assigned tasks, the successful candidate will need:

- Familiarity with (or ability to learn) Quicken accounting software

- Familiarity with computer systems and programs

- Be able to type 40 wpm

- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team on projects

- Exceptional organizational and mathematical skills

- At least 3 years' experience in an accounting, bookkeeping, or other position with significant financial responsbilities

Schedule: 3 days per week, 4 hours a day (initially planned to be Monday, Wednesday, and Friday)

Hours: 4 hours/day - exact schedule is flexible

COMPENSATION:

Rate: $27.00/hour
